Brasilito, from Playa Flamingo

Brasilito is the least resort-like town on this stretch: a village square that opens straight onto the beach, horses tied in the shade, and family-run kitchens serving whole fried fish. It is a ten-minute drive south of Flamingo.

Its main card is location. Walk south along the beach past the rocks and you arrive at Playa Conchal, the crushed-shell beach most visitors rank first in the region. Coming on foot from Brasilito is the classic way in.

The beach

Brasilito’s own beach is gray sand and workmanlike; the draw is the walk to Conchal at its south end. Horseback rides along the sand are a village staple.

Eat & drink

Simple and local: sodas, seafood, and a couple of long-standing beachfront restaurants around the square. Brasilito restaurants →
