If you only plan one sunset on this coast, make it this one. Sentido Norte is the restaurant and bar at Casa Chameleon, on the cliffs above Las Catalinas, with an open-air sunset lounge looking west over the Pacific and the islands offshore. The seats are deep and comfortable, and the view does the rest.
It is open to non-guests. The menu is Costa Rican cooking with a focus on local seafood; breakfast runs early, then an all-day menu takes over until 9 PM.
Good to know
- Guests must be 10 or older; the dress code is casual elegant.
- Reservations are usually needed, especially for sunset; book through OpenTable. Groups of eight or more need a deposit, per the restaurant.
- Las Catalinas is car-free: you park at the edge of town. A taxi or driver avoids the drive back after dinner.
