Africa Safari Adventure Park Day

Did you know that African wildlife feels right at home here in Guanacaste's pastureland? The eco-system mimics that of the plains of East Africa. Welcome to Ponderosa where you can hand feed the friendliest giraffes in the world and much much more. The park has some 300 animals from 22 different species; 11 of them are African species that you can observe and some of these you can feed with carrot sticks. They live comfortably in a freedom-controlled 30 hectare area. During this incredible ride on board our special safari tour trucks, one of our trained guides will provide you with information and facts about every species. The tour takes approximately one hour, and each truck can carry 25 people. You can purchase the carrot sticks inside the park. Once you have worked up an appetite from your Safari you may enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch right in the park.  You can also choose to add an afternoon at our waterfalls details Below.   Africa Safari Tour: In a space of 30 hectares more than 250 exotic animals live and interact with visitors. This safari allows you to see up close, feed and even take selfies, with giraffes, zebras, watusis, wildebeests, dromedaries, ostriches, oryx, and nilgai, among others. In the restaurant area, we offer carrots to facilitate the interaction with the animals. The Carrots Bags cost CRC1000 each ($2.)    Waterfalls: El Salto River, which crosses the park gives you the opportunity to enjoy the La Perla waterfall and swimming area. Cañon de la Vieja Adventure Day Pass

Cañon sits at the base of the Rincón volcanic range. Enjoy rafting and tubing down river canyons, rappelling, zip-lining, spa, mud bath, buffet lunch, horseback riding and more. White Water Tubing This trip is about 3 kilometers (1.864 miles) long, and it takes approximately 1:30 hours to complete. We leave the hotel in a jitney bus and in about 10 minutes we arrive to the river bank where the tour starts. We use the safest equipment, helmets and life vests. Everyone will get their own tube and a guide will follow with the group as well.  We offer class II and III rafting depending on the condition of the river and the weather conditions at the mountains in the Rincón de La Vieja volcano. The recommended outfit for this trip is shorts or bathing suit, water shoes and a t-shirt. It is not recommended to bring objects or items that might become loose and get lost. Canopy Tours (zip-lines) The canopy has a total of 9 cables and 17 platforms which crisscross the canyon of the Colorado river. It offers an amazing view of the zone's nature. The zip-lines range from 150 mts. (492 feet) to 360 mts. (1181 feet) and 45 mts. (147 feet) high. Just like in our other activities, special safety equipment is used, as well as expert guides making sure the experience is safe and enjoyable. The trip lasts about 1:30 hours. Recommended accessories for this trip are: shorts, sneakers, t-shirt and camera. Rock Climbing & Rappelling At the river bank you can enjoy the adrenaline rush of rappelling down the natural stone wall, which is about 20 mts. (65 feet) high. Once you reach the bottom, you can climb up again. Helmets, safety harnesses, and leather gloves are used. The time of this tour depends on your individual ability. Our guides will accompany you at every moment of the activity. The recommended accessories for this activity are: short or pants, sneakers and t-shirt. AQUETZALLY SPA Aquetzally Spa was created in an attempt to make our facilities even more relaxing. Here you can enjoy different and unique treatments that use the region’s natural products. The spa is in the vicinity of the Colorado river and the Rincón de La Vieja Volcano.

Canopy and Monkey ATV Tour

After canopy zip-lining visit the world famous monkey sanctuary. Located at our same facility it is considered to be one of the best Guanacaste tours you can find. Choose you own adventure! With this special tour you are able to choose exactly how you want to fill your 4 hour tour. The first choice you get to make is whether you want to take our amazing original zip-line tour of 11 lines and three hanging bridges, all with gorgeous views. However if you are an adrenaline junkie you may want to choose our extreme zip-line tour option. This option includes radical attractions from our tarzan swing to superman ziplines. Once you have chosen which zip-line course you would like to take you now need to decide how to spend the next 2 hours of your day. Are you a beach enjoyer or a mountain explorer? If you are here to see the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica then you can choose our beach enjoyer option. With this option we will take you to private beaches that are only accessible by ATV. However if you are a mountain explorer, ride through Guanacaste's mountains and view the authentic Guanacaste region. The last stop is at the Monkey Sanctuary. About the Congo Trail Monkey Sanctuary: Orphaned baby monkeys are not always adopted by another family of monkeys, but if they are found in time they are brought here. They usually haven't developed the skills to survive in the wild so the Monkey Sanctuary become their permanent home. Here you will be able to visit with a couple of different species of monkeys, including the famous Howler Monkey. You are able to feed these amazing animals. The Monkey Sanctuary rescues more than just monkeys. There is a petting zoo with sheep, horses, and a bull! 

Congo Canopy Zip-Line Tour

One of the most popular activities to do when visiting Guanacaste Costa Rica is zip-lining through the canopy of giant Guanacaste trees.
